After few times calling the place asking for directions, I finally arrived :) The place is not supposed to be hard to find, it was just my first time driving up there, alone! :D
This occasion was to actually meet up a blogger friend, Tony. He likes coffee and invited me to try this recommended place (thanks for great evening ! ^^).

So, as the name Roemah Kopi (Coffee House), their specialties are coffee. They offer only indonesian coffee and they have 4 barista. We were lucky to meet & chat with the owner, Mrs. Mirna Irawan. The house was built in 2001 then had a change in function to a cafe by the end of 2003. Decorated in Java style, we can find unique ornaments everywhere.
Psssst, the owner& fam. are actually living there..

Reading corner offers original old indonesian books

Small unique ornaments, sculptures, posters, ceramics and potteries decorates the place

It was all started with her fondness of smoking and drinking coffee which she thinks is a really good pair together. The concept of the place it self is simply to offer the experience and taste of having coffee like you're at home. And another important thing is, good price ! ;)

I was in Jakarta again few days ago, we were supposed to have a gathering, Bukber in this occasion. But guess what, it was canceled on the last minute! Yes, I went all the way just for that.. hiksz (#_#)!@_@&%%@^(%

So anyway, I decided just to dine out with one other friend who was going with me to the gathering. We went to this Arabian restaurant in Kemang, the owner and him were old best friends, twenty sth years together in Yaman, so he said. Being the owner and one of the chef him self, the restaurant offers pretty authentic and original Arabian food taste.

Kurma was served, Mint Tea ; Tamarin for drinks. Their Kebab served with Hommus was yummy, even for me who doesn't really in to lamb. I ordered Fattet Dajaj (chicken fillet, rice, yoghurt, fried bread, special spices) and I love it !!! It's actually only appetizer, doesn't look that much but we weren't able to finish a half of it ahahaha..
Another unique drinks I didn't have the space to have was Sahlab, basically made from milk, sugar, pistachios and a sprinkle of cinnamon).

It was a quite a heavy meal with pretty intense chat too, hence I didn't take pics except this one :D (I couldn't remember the name of the food ahahha)

The owner was really friendly, he speaks fluent Indonesia, English, Arab of course, and French (OMG!!).
Should you look for different eating experience, Arabian food is a good choice.
I surely recommend this restaurant !

As a town right next to Bandung, Lembang is one of point of destinations, quite famous even for locals like me. Here are just few places I recently visited there ^^

Tahu Lembang
You can't miss this complex, when you arrived in Lembang, it's on the left side of the main road. One of their products is tofu. Tastes different then usual tofu, with a bit salt and chili it's a perfect snack !

Not only they have a drive through to sell the tofu, but if you care to park and explore the complex, they actually made the tofu there.

Other facilities there are children kind of playground - labirin, restaurant, small traditional food stalls and a store sells Indonesian traditional products like this Congklak board. And of course, the rest of the dining area are decorated with the kind of products too..
For a middle generation kid like me, it's really interesting !!

The Karmel
This is the next you'll pass on you after Tahu Lembang, there's a sign said KARMEL on the left side, not that big, so pay attention !
I come here when I need some place really quiet where I can pray. This complex has church and stations of the cross. It's a beautiful and peaceful place. Not a tourism spot though, but for Catholics / Christians, you might wanna drop by and get a little peace of mind :)

The market
There is one traditional market after you pass Carmel, still on the left side,just before the main road turn to the right. Vegetables, fruits and plants can be bought here, don't hesitate to bargain ! :D

That Brebes Restaurant on the pic is often visited. It's on the right side of the road, right across the market. They offer Sundanese food.

FOOD
Ketan Bakar, Colenak, Pisang Goreng, Jagung Bakar are must try food during Lembang visit. They are easily found in a simple stall along pavements, especially near the traditional market.
Well of course it's not that clean since it's sold along pavements, but certainly yummy, eatable and safe hahahaha

A must visit place here is this Lembang Kencana complex.
In my opinion the place is so so, but with the cool air, having milk and toast with spacious green garden view is just fun and refreshing ^^

I noted the ads on Kompas newspaper since few days ago, the Coffeemania part caught my attention. It's mainly an automotive promotion of Asco with coffee and food stalls. I was expecting more things to see and learn fron the coffee festival. But well, having iced Cappucino in such hot and humid afternoon made my day. But it was nothing until I saw this

This bag was full of the Luwak Coffee beans. So this is what the most expensive coffee in the world looks like before cleaning and roasting.. haheuhaeuhaua
Disgustingly cool ! :))

I didn't bother to see the cars nor the food stalls. Except a long line of cafés selling their coffee, there was one stall with 2 bule -no offense- wearing red aprons. Warnung, cute alert!! :D

Anyway, Lite fm Radio was there, they were looking for a host to present their programs. And guess who happened to be walking by and got to do the try out.. ... .... LOL !!
I think I passed the tests. Hahahaha..

Today is obviously not the first opening day for the expo, nor the last. However mom and me gotta wait 2 hours just to get in, thanks to our first lady who came to officialy open this expo and Ekonomi Kreatif expo in the next hall. They was holding some kinda rice contest and of course she stayed until it's over.
Ayayayay..
Okay, anyway.. I have no idea who won it, we just went in and ate random snacks hahaha it was 1pm and we haven't had anything to eat since morning.

So, back to that competition, the participants came from provinces in Indonesia, they cooked their traditional food and in the end they offered their creations to visitors. I tried Klepon, but these black ones were made a la Nusa Tenggara Barat using Singkong, liquid palm sugar and wijen seeds instead of grated coconut. It tasted really good!! Different with the green Java Klepon.

And for the rest of the food, I got pics :)

In the back competition area is the main hall where the expo was hold. I was literally surrounded with food, but then I lost my appetite.. how sad :(
It's probably because of the excitement of getting so many interesting new things and I got my cam ready ^^

I stayed and visited also the other expo Ekonomi Kreatif. It's more to art,fashion,music, books, shirts, Batik, paintings etc kinda stuff, although it's not ethnic ones but still it's interesting for me.

I successfully kidnapped a friend for lunch hahaha It's been a while since the last time we met, I couldn't remember when nor where.
In such a short notice we agreed to meet up in Oakwood Mega Kuningan, he works just across the st.

This bistro has smoking and non smoking area and if we went on with our choices, there would be no point of having lunch together :))
So anyway, the smoking room is not really spacious, I'd say it's quite packed with 80% occupancy, fine dining style, slow music, bright room !
We had Black Pepper Beef, Kangkung Garlic, Mayonnaise Shrimp, Manggo juice and Ambula (Kedondong Juice).

Bandung - Festival Jajanan Bango (FJB) 2009

Since I didn't have anything that important to do for the whole day, and since I'm a good daughter :D, so I went to this FJB in Tegalega, thanks to my mom's sudden urge. As predicted, jammed near the place and it was kinda hard to get park. The good thing was, cause we came around 5.30pm, the sun was almost out!

Held only for today, the participants of this event, are quite well known food vendors (restaurants, kanteens, etc) especially in Bandung, and of course as the sponsor is Bango soya sauce.
Beside food and food goers, guest star Krisdayanti (we missed that) and Surya Saputra was there, being their ambassador, I guess.

It was my 1st time visiting the event, and I'd say it was fun, festive and packed.
But next time I would come way earlier, cause few major stalls were already sold out.

Jakarta Fair 2009

Intentionally I came to Jakarta to see this annual fair. The must do thing is to eat Kerak Telor - literally translated : Egg Crust. Simply it's like omelette, but this one a traditional Betawi food.
Seems like hundreds of the vendors were at the fair, inside and outside the complex.
This one we had inside, looks clean enough than the others, lots of people were having that one, so I assumed it taste quite good and it did although I can't remember if that's how the taste supposed to be ^^

In other part of the Fair, we found this prototype of Jakarta MRT. It will be 14.5 km starting from Lebak Bulus to Dukuh Atas and will have 12 Stations (4 undergrounds and 8 elevated).
Scheduled to start the construction in 2010 and operation in 2016.

Nice huh?!
It got me thinking, hard... Not that it's impossible, it just seems a really long way to go and hell lot to do. Good luck !
Anyway, I had fun taking pics there ahahaha :D

Rame Rame

Tonight was another little gathering with my gals. This time Dynn insisted to go to Rame Rame, restaurant really close to the Paris Van Java. I ate before, so I only tried their toast and hot tea while both the girls had sate. Old Dutch style house, not really that spacious but big enough and roast & grill area in the front yard next to the parking place. Seems that their basic consept is old indonesian-dutchy style. Their menu is in old spelling of indonesian words , printed on brown paper gives it an old look.

Mainly offers Indonesian food but also Chinese food such noodles, kwetiauw, capcay also known as Chop Suey etc
As for snacks : Ronde, Kolak, Sakoteng, Roejak, Toast and Pisang Bakar.

Anyway after we're done with the meal I chat with Mrs. Erna-looks like she was in charge of the restaurant-, here are few recommended ones according to her :

Ribs lover must have tried dining here. Originally started from Miami, the restaurant has been franchised all over the world and now reached 2xx restaurant over 32 countries. In Bandung, we have only one restaurant, but when I was in Plantation - it's like an hour from miami, by car ofcourse- I found Tony's stall in food court!! :D

Obviously I was not the one who initiated to eat here, as a not really a big fan of meat, I'd come to SushiTei at the next building instead of Tony's. I ended up having Onion Ring hahaha but well, I tasted the ribs and it was good ^^

Pancake & Waffle, Pasta, Baked Rice

Read again, it's NOT Pavilion, it's Pavillon, although they mean the same.
Tonight was my 2nd visit here, had a little reunion with my high school friends. We came around 17.45 and it was super packed ! It took about 20 mins to get a table, but at least the food came quite fast. With such a flow of hungry and curious eaters, 2 chairs were kinda blocking the entrance.

The place is small, cute, warm decorations, few shelves to display old looking plates and small candle holder, lamps (I noticed one similar in Fullhouse :p), mugs on one wall, white furniture are dominating and I didn't notice any window. Really? I never sit on the sides, didn't check either. Well if that's true, then just let the wind breeze..! Yeah I wished!! Maybe that's why they don't use air conditioning (????). Hence the heat specially when it's full, which almost always does specially on meal times and weekends.

I was in Jkt last week for friend's wedding, and of course I made time to come here. This is actually my 2nd visit, now I got pics ! ^^
So, this place named Binatu An. It's not new in town, but for those who haven't tried, I'm recommending!
Binatu actually means laundry place. I guess it was once, before now it's popular with their yummy Kopyor or some call it sick coconut and Otak-Otak.

Not really a fancy comfy place you might expect, well they use few fans. And with the weather in Jakarta, it's almost, almost cool enough in there.
But hey, taste that matters, right?!! :)
See, I smile big time here.. Big portion of Kopyor too :D

At last, my curiosity of this place paid off. Today we had lunch here, again another themed restaurant, fully furnished, modern, and spacious !
This one has a bar area, bath area, book shelves and reading area, big kitchen and dining area, and a bed in the middle of the restaurant..
I heard the owners are also the Chefs, other interesting infos are written in the the front page of their newspaper a.k.a menu, and shoot I left it behind, and didn't take any pic!!! grrr :(

We ordered Pizza Prociutto and as for one of favorite choices of meal, I tried the Penne Pesto Chicken. And for drinks Fillalatella and Fruitytail.

Aunty Susan, Uncle Hengky and me went to the one in Pondok Indah. It was the perfect timing, almost 7pm and the restaurant had only 4 occupied tables. Not really that fancy nor too casual, although I came with my slippers hehehe forgot to bring a pair to jkt.. who cares anyway :D
It's a family quality time, hence not so much pics I got..
Since I'm not a big fan of meat, for me it was a night of lots of veggies. Fresh veggie and I love the mushroom ! It was supposed to be a buffet but they charged for extra portions of mushroom T.T

Another friends recommendation while we were in Jakarta. And as Italian food lover, I was so excited to try. So we had dinner in PEPeNERO Kuningan, and since we were only two, with limited capacity of uploading food at 8pm, we only tried their Pizza and of course pasta.
It's a kinda semi casual fine restaurant, modern, candles and songs. Fine ambiance I should say.

This time I had a blasting late lunch with Po and Edy.
As the restaurant's name, it's japanese food, yaaaay !!! We are all a fan, although I'm not really familiar with the japanese names, but I'm good at eating :))
So, another delicieux restaurant in Bandung. I remember now, I ate there once before when I was somewhere between junior and senior high school. Owh my, I should've really gone out more, shouldn't I !

I'd say Midori has more japanese food taste, and every item we ordered were eaten out in just few minutes !! Yummmmy.. I love the Unagi Sushi the most!
Price ? It's so worth it..

Yaaay, 1st time for me reporting life from the spot!
This cafe 's been operating since 2008 specializing in gourmet coffee.
Freshly roasted, No preservatives and No flavoring.
Healthy - healthy!!
Their products includes pure wild Luwak Coffee, this variant is really rare and can only be found in Indonesia. And others come from various islands in Indonesia.
They put the red roasting machine in the main room, and it's really eye catchy. Well, at least for me, since I haven't seen a lot of coffee machines. They have semi -outdoor sitting area in the back, and it's bright and cute with the orange chairs and so green too! Looks like I'm gonna come back here for more :D
I tried few of their specialties like Expresso, Caramel Macchiatto and for snack Bratwurst & Chips.
It's a must visit cafe for coffee lover !

Penang Biscuit Tambun

Apparently having a boyfriend who works in Malaysia means lots of Food-venir from there. From his last trip he got me Seng Heang Biscuit Tambun from Penang. These biscuits are basicaly made of green beens. I personally like the first and the third, good tea companion.

I looked for their site, and I bumped in to Sheng Hiang instead of Seng Heang.
From a little research, apparently Sheng Hiang is the famous one. So when you decide to grab ones, make sure it's Sheng Hiang (although the ones I had are not bad at all). Their shops can be found all over Malaysia, and surprisingly also Indonesia.

Nasi Bakmoy

Nasi is rice in English. While Bakmoy refers to small cubes of dried tofu, chicken and boiled egg served with boiling broth. Soy sauce is what completes the unique taste.
This Javanese cuisine is pretty famous. So I went to Jl. Mahmud the other day, since people been going there for year for it's delicious Nasi Bakmoy.

They also have Rujak and Lotek. Lotek is fresh boiled vegetables mixed with peanuts dressing. More less like (Indonesian) salad ^^. Other than veggies, we can also add cut boiled eggs. Either we eat it just as it is or with white rice or mix it with lontong.

Another product from Malaysia. This so called instant cappuccino does have really soft foam as we stir it, not that much but hey you get foam from an instant package, I wouldn’t complain ^^
For me, it’s the taste is not firm enough. Neither the coffee nor the sweetness are strong.
Taste quite okay !

Ipoh Old Town White Coffee

My friend got my mom a bag of Aik Cheong Cappuccino and this Old Town White Coffee since she is a coffee drinker. And of course I got to try them, right?! :)

They are products from Malaysia, of the town named Ipoh, around 2 hours driving from Kuala Lumpur.

I compared with other instant Indonesian coffees, this white coffee has less sweet-which I like. It surprised me on how sweet Indonesian ones actually are. But with a taste of hazelnut, which unfortunately using artificial flavor (You know how good the real hazelnut are, ‘droll..’ ), I usually have it for my breakfast with plain biscuits or bread.

What intrigue me the most is this one. Funny how I immediately thought of white chocolate, and at first I thought it’ll be a bit sweeter and looks a bit whiter. But White Coffee ??

I was surprised to have found the browsing results. On Wiki, the term white coffee can mean several things. For Ipoh White Coffee in particular, it refers to a drink made from coffee beans roasted with only margarine without any sugar, the result is less dark roast. And guess what, Ipoh’s old town is exactly the place where it’s originating from ^^

So yeah it explains much about the less sweet taste. It’s running out now, there were only 15 sticks in the bag. Seems I’m the one who’s going to miss it more, rather than my mom :D

Classique Café Kemang

I was in Jakarta, and a friend invite us to this Café in Kemang. She's a thé lover and was so excited in trying one here. Few flavors I recall are Peppermint, Fruit Rouges, English Breakfast, Earl Gray, and Jardin Bleu. Since I'm quite familiar with almost all the flavors except one, I tried the Jardin Bleu.
I like it ! ^^ The tea comes with Biscotti, and those two are indeed a good pair up !!

Varieties of breads were on display, I love how they use the red squares clothes under every basket, in a way it gives a some kind of home-made feelings.
There is coffee as well here, which I didn't got chance to pay much intention, but I found a new friend who reviewed it really nicely here.

In different section of the Café, they have another seating area, I believe that one related to wine. They offered us few glasses red and white wine to taste.

Price ? My friend took a step a head of me, so I have no idea "^^

I'll complete the reviews next time I visit it again :)

The Duck King Restaurant

I came with a good friend of mine not long after I came back to Bandung, I guess it was kinda a welcome back lunch from him. This restaurant is part of The Duck King Group, which currently has 8 restaurant in Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya-Indonesia. They specializing in authentic Chinese cuisine infused with touch of south east asian culinary. Three different concepts of restaurant are offered :
1. The Grand Duck King Restaurant - contemporary and fine dining ambience, halal.
2. The Duck King Restaurant - modern and casual dining restaurant, halal.
3. Imperial Chef Restaurant - oriental and casual dining ambience, non halal.

So, the one we tried was The Duck King Restaurant. I didn't bring my camera, he surprised me with such a big fancy lunch!! So I took few pictures from my phone camera (Sony Ericsson K800i), better than nothing right :D

Here are what we ordered :
White rice; Chinese Tea Jasmine; Half roast duck; Mun Tofu With Mushroom; Enok i,Shimeiji vegetables; and Black Pepper Beef .
And believe me, those were way to many for two person !!! Specially if you're with me ""^^

The total we paid, well he paid.. was Rp.366,438 which I think was worth it.
I really love the Tofu and Enoki, for veggie lover, you gotta try ! :)

Koi Kei Bakery

This chain bakery is unbelievably famous in little Macau. By having 9 stores alone in Macau makes you can find it easily. Me and my friends often came to the one in Rue de S. Paulo, which there are 2 stores in the street, our fave is the bigger one, if I'm not mistaken it's nearer to ruins of St. Paul Church.
They provide samples so we can try them out, not for every products, but lots of them have. I tried the Almond Cookie With Whole Almond, for me it's a great tea companion!
Love the Nougat too, silly me I didn't take picture, but it's white, not so hard, not so sweet. I tried the Coffee Nougat, color brown. I'm guessing it's Koi Kei's, not bad though, still I personally like the white one much better.

It was getting late, and 6 hungry people decided to go to NZX Petaling Jaya. We were curious of this place. And just like the name, this 2 floors restaurant decorated as a real furnished house would be. In the front yard there's a old car parked, outdoor seats, complete bedroom, shower, closet with clothes, tables, chair, accessories. I'd say it's like a boutique restaurant, 'coz you can actually buy every little piece in there. Here are few pics I took, should've had more pics but
the place were packed and we were literally starving, there definetely will be a revisit!

It's a really cute and comfy place to hange out and ofcourse to eat, the food were more than acceptable in taste. Owh btw, they have Asian and Western food. And You saw the menu there, it's super cute right ^^ ?!! As a themed restaurant gives a change of atmosphere, this place is one of my fave !

Fortaleza da Guia / Guiya Fortress

It's a fort with a chapel and light house (1865), constructed between 1622 ans 1638. The complex located upon the highest point of Macau, Guia Hill.

The Guia Chapel was built around 1622 by Clarist Nuns, depicts western and china themes. The altar has image of the Virgin and painting of St. John Baptist.

StarWorld Hotel And Casino

StarWorld Hotel & Casino as the first 5-star hotel and casino of Galaxy Entertainment Group is located in a really strategic are in Macau. I guess staying there was my luck, indeed.

The room was superb! From the 19th floor facing Presidente Casino and Wynn Casino where we could watch it's famous fountain musical performance. Beautiful colorful lights right from the window!

From the bed, we can see through the bath room, so while having a bath tub we can watch tv. Across the bath tub, there is shower room and toilet over the wash basins. Shame I didn’t take pictures of the room, whenever I got back by the end of the day, tired, and forget about taking a proper pictures of it. This is the only one I got. It’s taken from the toilet room, I tried to stand back as far as I could, and this was the best I can get. See the glass there? And the flat screen TV on the wall across the bed.?! Unique!

Every day they always have something going on at the lobby, from dancers – singers – actors- pantomime- to group of pretty ladies ( I was amazed how they can be more ladylike than me ohlala ) who will greet, smile and take pictures with you. The lobby was quite alive!

A-Ma-Gao Temple

Located in the a little bit far south-west of Macau, this temple was begun its construction in the 15th century, and became the oldest one in Macau. The natives call it A-Ma-Gao ( Bay of A-Ma), or Templo de A-Mä (Portuguese), which where the name Macau derived from.
The legend beyond the temple it self started when a ship was sailing across the South China Sea, there was a sudden storm and a young woman calmed it down. She stepped ashore and walked to the crest of Barra Hill, and ascended to heaven. She is considered s a goddess, known as A-Ma or Ling Ma. On the spot where she first stepped foot on the land a temple was built and named A-Ma.

Today is my birthday, and thanks to my lack of reading map, I visited this temple twice today!! LOL
It's around a week after the Chinese New Year, people still came to temples. It was really crowded, but I got to see how people do their rituals, they come and burn incense, pray and throw some coins to some kind of basin, also they try to foresee the future by shaking a can full of sticks with some writing in it, the one comes out first should be taken, and a smart one will read and explain it to them.

Just beside the temple there's a Maritim museum, which I didn't go in side.
Don't forget to get your self a cone of the Happiness Ice Cream! It's believed that people who eat it will ge happiness in their life. It cost 7 MOP, seriously !! But know that you know, you just gotta get one :D
So if you ever visit Macau, this one’s gotta be in your list. In addition, there’s another A-ma temple in Coloane (posting soon), and that one, Wow me!

Lilau Square

Located in Portuguese residential area, in old "Christian Quarter".

The ground water of Lilau used to be the main source of natural spring water in Macao. The Portuguese popular phrase: “One who drinks from Lilau never forgets Macao” expresses the locals’ nostalgic attachment to Lilau Square.

Wynn Macau

Wynn Macau is one of the most luxurious casino and 5 star hotel in Macau.
It’s also one of only five hotel in Asia that won the prestigious Mobil Five Star hospitality award.
Grand casinos in Macau usually have something that attracts people to come to their casino.
I would say Wynn has two main great ones, indoor and outdoor musical performances. Inside they have Dragon and a Tree of Prosperity performance. Apparently the dragon is special for this Chinese New Year, and the tree was from last year's, not sure if they last the whole year.
The show is played every 30 minute, the dragon and the tree take turns.

While outside, they play musical fountain show every 15 minutes, each time they play one different song. In their gift shop, I found the CD for the performance, they have 12 songs in total.

Estatua de Kun Lam

This Kun Lam Statue was the first spot I visited in Macau. Reached in only 15 minutes walking from my hotel. Made from bronze and carved as a Buddhist goddess who is kind to people who repent their sins. It has a small show rooms of statues in the building underneath.
Apart from the monument, it's a great place to have such a view to the sea and side line of Macau city.

Lucky me, my friend Robby was working in Macau.
We met up and take silly pictures ^^

Hot Pepper Chocolate

I'm on my way from FL to KL (Kuala Lumpur), and had to stop in Seoul-Korea for 2hours or so.
Two things I bought are a bottle of Soju, and this funny Hot Pepper Chocolate.
They are HOT indeed! and sweet.. hahaha ^^
